Greetings everyone! As we continue to enhance our original free module, Suppliers, we're thrilled to introduce features designed to boost the efficiency of your quality systems.
Navigating to Next Level CNC Supplier
Let’s kick off with a fictional Supplier example: Next Level CNC. Positioned as a level 3 supplier in our system awaiting approval, this demo supplier provides us with a perfect opportunity to explore two new menus within the Suppliers module that promise to enhance how FreeQMS users monitor Supplier offerings and compliance.
Introducing the Supplier Scope Section
On the Information tab for our demo supplier, we unveil the Supplier Scope section. This newly introduced feature empowers companies to manage Supplier risk effectively. Additionally, it facilitates the tracking of multiple products, services, regulations, and standards, setting the stage for the imminent release of Supplier Activities!
Focus on New Menus: Products or Services and Regulations/Standards
In this update, we'll concentrate on the two game-changing menus: Products or Services and Regulations/Standards.
Seamless Transition and Enhanced User Experience
For an improved user experience, we have transitioned from a single Product or Service field to the new Products or Services menu. Fear not – any data previously entered in the old field will seamlessly appear at the top of the new menu. The Suppliers navigation menu retains the Product or Service column for easy selection.
Let's Dive In - Adding Products or Services
Clicking on Next Level CNC, we explore the new menu. Adding a product or service is now more user-friendly, with a pop-out similar to other modules like Audits or Audit Items. We quickly add three examples: CNC Finishing Services, #10 Stainless Screws, and 8MM Hex Nuts for Prototypes.
Regulations/Standards - A Key Component
Next up is the Regulations/Standards menu. Like before, you can add up to five at once. This flexible field can be interpreted to specify either the standards your company needs a Supplier to meet or the ones they claim to meet. For our low-risk supplier, providing prototype parts and holding an ISO 9001:2015 certification, we add ISO 9001:2015.
File Tab for Added Detail
Don't forget, you can always visit the Files tab to upload certificates, providing additional details and setting expiration dates.
